冷凍で届く「さばチキン」は加熱済みなので解凍後そのまま食べられ、嬉しいことに骨取り済み。
サバのあの細かい骨を気にせずパンに挟んだり、ご飯に混ぜたり、まるごとガブリといただけるのが嬉しいですね。
食べると驚くのがそのしっとりとして、ホロホロとほどけるようなサバの食感です。
サバがパサパサしていたという経験のある方は多いと思いますが、こちらの「さばチキン」は驚くほどしっとりとしていて脂のしつこさもありません。
味は、駿河湾深層水を使った塩味がついていますが、塩サバのようなしょっぱさではなく、「さばチキン」だけでモグモグいけるくらいの優しい塩味。

Mackerel chicken is a boneless steamed mackerel that can be eaten as easily as eating chicken.
The mackerel chicken arrives frozen and is pre-heated, so it can be eaten as it is after defrosting, and luckily it is already deboned.
It's great to be able to sandwich mackerel between bread, mix it with rice or eat it up whole without worrying about those fine mackerel bones.

船上で活き〆したゴマサバを使い、鮮度を保って加工。
焼津「下村こうじ屋」の国産味噌を使用しています。

昔ながらの漁師町、焼津小川の「小川漁業協同組合」

Kogawa Fishermen's Cooperative Association, Yaizu Kogawa, a traditional fishing town.

小川漁業協同組合は、焼津市の南西部、焼津漁港小川地区（旧小川港）外港に主たる事務所を置いている漁業協同組合。 昭和24年に設立されました。

サバ・アジ・イワシなどの主要魚種をはじめ、駿河湾で漁獲された新鮮な魚を水揚げし、受託販売している、「小川魚市場」をはじめとし、製氷･冷凍事業、購買事業など、様々な事業を展開。また、焼津小川は、全国有数の「さば」の水揚基地として栄え、「さば」と言えば小川漁協といわれる程に。水揚げされた「さば」は、鮮魚としてはもちろん、サバ節や練り製品などに加工されています。年間を通じて安定的に「さば」を供給できるため、地域産業に貢献している割合は大きく特定第三種漁港としての役割を担っています。

Kogawa Fishing Cooperative Association is a fishing cooperative with its principal office in the outer harbour of the Kogawa area (formerly Ogawa Port) of the Yaizu Fishing Port, south-west of Yaizu City. It was established in 1949.

The company operates various businesses, including the Kogawa Fish Market, which lands and sells fresh fish caught in Suruga Bay, including major fish species such as mackerel, horse mackerel and sardines, as well as freezing and purchasing businesses. In addition, Yaizu Kogawa has flourished as one of the nation's leading mackerel landing bases, to the extent that the Kogawa Fisheries Cooperative is known as the 'mackerel' of the country.
Landed 'mackerel' is processed into dried mackerel flakes and paste products, as well as being sold as fresh fish. As a stable supply of mackerel is available throughout the year, the port contributes a significant proportion to local industry and plays a role as a designated Class III fishing port.
